No Bones

What part of me needed that
You threw me out the fifth-floor window
No one told me to stay
Or wait for you when she told you
She’d be back

The door closed and you hid under sheets
Tears and sweat fall and dry together
She waited for him under twisting stars
Time, a threat that stretched and shook,
Told us tales of the future

Is not breathing the same as breathing
She wondered aloud
Will it all be the same when I’m gone
